Sierra Club Movie Night

Description: Movie Night Now Feb. 6rd! (Weather delay). 7:00 PM @ Mayflower – Two 30-minute films this month both related to water and Oklahoma. The first: Oklahoma Water: A Quality of Life presents an overview of Oklahoma’s water issues as presented by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. Those of you who have followed the contentious issue of selling our water to Texas know how important this one is. This will be followed by The Playas, Reflections of Life on the Plains, a fascinating study of the playa landscape, an ecosystem to be found in abundance throughout the great plains states, including Oklahoma. Water makes the playas and playas make critical homes for many species of wildlife, including millions of migratory birds. They also serve as the primary source of recharge for Ogallala reservoir, the vast underground water storage reserve of the plains.
